Ingredients:
- For the Pork Chops:
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1/2 inch thick)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger (optional)
- 1 tablespoon rice wine or dry white wine
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
- For the Rice Plate:
- 2 cups cooked jasmine rice or your preferred type of rice
- 1 cup steamed or stir-fried vegetables (e.g., broccoli, carrots, bell peppers)
- 1/4 cup pickled vegetables (such as daikon or carrots, optional)
- Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Marinate the Pork Chops:
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger (if using), rice wine, and black pepper.
- Place the pork chops in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for more flavor.
- Cook the Pork Chops:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the pork chops from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
- Place the pork chops in the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the pork chops are cooked through and have a nice golden-brown crust. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Transfer the cooked pork chops to a plate and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Prepare the Rice Plate:
- While the pork chops are cooking, prepare the rice and vegetables. If using leftover rice, reheat it in the microwave or on the stovetop.
- Steam or stir-fry your vegetables until tender but still crisp.
- Assemble the Plate:
- Place a serving of rice on each plate.
- Arrange the cooked pork chops on top or beside the rice.
- Add a portion of steamed or stir-fried vegetables to each plate.
- Garnish with pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro, or green onions if desired.
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve the Pork Chop Rice Plate with a side of dipping sauce or additional soy sauce for added flavor.
- A simple salad or a small bowl of soup would complement this meal nicely.
